چکیده
Background Previous studies have linked apical periodontitis (AP) to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The aim of this study was compare the prevalence AP and root canal treatment (RCT) in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) Crohn´s (CD). Material methods A cross-sectional study, including 28 26 colitis, conducted. diagnosed as radiolucent periapical lesions (RPLs), using index score (PAI). Student's t test, 2 test multivariate logistic regression were used statistical analysis. Results Multivariate run age, gender, number teeth, RFT, periodontal type IBD covariates, taking dependent variable outcome status (0 = no tooth RPL; 1 at least one RPL), showed that both UC CD had (OR 1.03; C.I. 95% 0.25 - 4.31; p 0.97). analysis, all above shows RCT similar 0.76; 0.17 7.31; 0.73). Periapical significantly associated endodontic 42.72; 3.87 472.15; 0.002), regardless type. Conclusions results present show frequency RFT patients. does not appear affect radiographically detectable or treatment.

Mucosal Flora in Crohn ́s diseases and ulcerative colitis
Until the late 19 century, microbes were the major cause of death in humans. Ironically, the infectious nature of most diseases was not recognized. There was little treatment available and was mostly focused on strengthening the general immunity. This changed with the identification of pathogens by Pasteur and Koch. The knowledge about microbial infections quickly expanded and reduced dramatica...

Background and aims: In diagnosing inflammatory bowel disease, one of diagnostic way is upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, which helps in differential diagnosis of unspecified colitis as well. The aim of this study was to investigate the necessity of upper gastrointestinal endoscopy in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive cross-sectional...
متن کاملExpressing the Differences between Crohn Disease and Ulcerative Colitis
I nfl ammatory bowel disease (IBD) is mainly seen in developed, urbanized countries, and its incidence increased steeply at the beginning of the 20th century, concurrently with improved hygiene. Similar trends have been observed for allergic and autoimmune disorders, suggesting that a reduction in microbial burden contributes to disease pathogenesis. Apart from environmental factors playing a s...
متن کاملInvestigation of adherent-invasive E. coli in patients with Crohn\'s disease
Background: Crohn's disease and Ulcerative colitis are known as inflammatory bowel disease with high morbidity which are as a result of increasing immune responses to intestinal microbiota in genetically susceptible individuals. The association of adherent invasive Escherichia coli with Crohn's disease in human has been discussed for decades. The principal aim of this study was to assess the re...
متن کاملSerum Interleukin-23 Levels in Patients with Ulcerative Colitis
Background: Patients with ulcerative colitis are at increased risk of inflammation. Interleukin 23 (IL-23) is a newly identified cytokine with increased expression in inflamed biopsies of colon mucosa in patients with Crohn's disease; however, there is inconsistent evidence on its role in ulcerative colitis. Objective: We aimed to compare serum IL-23 level in patients with ulcerative colitis an...
